Randal A. Hendricks is the managing member of Hendricks Interests LLC. A native of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Mr. Hendricks graduated from the University of Houston, receiving both Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Jurisprudence degrees with honors. Mr. Hendricks practiced law with Baker & Botts, a major Houston law firm, in 1970-1972. Mr. Hendricks has been involved as a principal in over 80 real estate investment projects in the Greater Houston area since 1970.
Mr. Hendricks has represented professional athletes since 1970. He is a veteran of many record setting contracts, labor negotiations and other important matters in the baseball industry. He holds the best lifetime winning percentage in salary arbitration and collusion cases. He has argued over 60 such cases. He has been ranked near the top of Baseball America power brokers and has been named its top agent. He has been named to The Sporting News list of the 100 Most Powerful People in Sports.
Mr. Hendricks is the author of Inside the Strike Zone, published in 1994. His book is an intimate look at the inner workings of baseball at its highest levels. Widely acclaimed, Inside the Strike Zone was a finalist for the Casey Award as the best baseball book of 1994.
Mr. Hendricks served as a member of The Houston/Harris County Sports Facility Public Advisory Committee, in 1995-96, which led to new baseball, football and basketball facilities in Houston. He wrote the Election Day editorial in the Houston Chronicle in favor of approving the new stadia.
