Bret joined the company in 2005 as general counsel. Promoted to President in 2014, he oversees Hendricks Interests ongoing commercial and residential projects, and continues in his role as general counsel.
A recognized top national debater and state champion in high school, Bret received his law degree from the University of Houston, where he won several national and school awards for his advocacy and litigation skills in mediation, appellate brief writing and appellate argument. His success earned him admission to the Order of the Barristers, a distinction reserved for the top advocates in law school.
After law school Bret worked as a defense attorney in civil litigation for a prominent firm in Houston for several years before joining Hendricks Interests. He has practiced in both state and federal court as well as before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Bret graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He also received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Houston.
Bret resides in Houston with his wife, Rebecca, and their two sons.
